Dr Tom Simcock
Hi, I’m Tom, I am a Research Fellow and the Research Manager of the Healthy Housing Initiative at the University of Huddersfield. My research focuses on healthy and housing, the private rented sector and short-term lets, and housing inequalities.
I’m a multi-disciplinary and mixed-method researcher, drawing upon my academic background in Psychology, along with Social Policy and Management approaches to address key challenges in housing and society. I believe improving housing can empower positive changes in health, wellbeing, and inequalities across society.
I work with charities, beneficiaries, activist groups, organisations, emergency services, local and national Governments, and policymakers, including Members of Parliament, to better understand housing issues and work with them to effect positive change in practice, service delivery and policy.
